The Windows Standard Serial Communications Library for eVC (WSC4eVC) and the Windows Standard Serial Communications Library for eVB (WSC4eVB) are asynchronous serial communications libraries for eMbedded Visual C++ (eVC) and eMbedded Visual Basic (eVB). These library controls include 33 functions plus XMODEM and YMODEM protocols, and several example programs.
WSC4eVC and WSC4eVB can be used in the development of application programs running under Win/CE (Pocket PC or Handheld PC). Both run on Pocket PC (PPC) computers, and use the same Win/CE Pocket PC DLL (WSC32.DLL), including PPC 2002 and PPC 2003.
WSC4eVC will work with all Pocket PC (PPC) platforms supported by Microsoft Embedded Visual C++ 3.0 (eVC 3.0) and Embedded Visual C++ 4.0 (eVC 4.0).
WSC4eVB will work with all Pocket PC (PPC) platforms supported by Microsoft Embedded Visual Basic 3.0 (eVB 3.0). Embedded Visual Basic Runtime for Pocket PC 2003 is available from Microsoft to allow eVB 3.0 programs to run on Pocket PC 2003 platforms. See http://msdn.microsoft.com/mobility
Each library can be used with Bluetooth as well as be used with the Pocket PC emulator that is provided with Microsoft Embedded Tools 3.0. This will allow a programmer to develop serial communication applications without having the physical Windows/CE device.
The evaluation versions of WSC4eVC and WSC4eVB are fully functional.
The MarshallSoft GPS Component for eVC (MGC4eVC) is a Win/CE DLL that allows any eMbedded Visuall C++ (eVC) program to receive and decode standard NMEA 183 sentences from a GPS receiver connected to the RS232 serial port. Requires Microsoft Embedded Tools 3.0 eVC compiler.
All of our controls for eVC (Embedded Visual C++) and eVB (Embedded Visual Basic) require Microsoft Embedded Tools 3.0 and can be downloaded free from the Microsoft web site.
